We currently have one opening on the SCCA Pool Board of Directors. We are seeking one more member who is interested in serving, specifically someone to help coordinate membership records. Interested members are encouraged to contact the Board President, Brian Lackey for more information.
Board Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month and meeting minutes are available upon request. Members are welcome to attend, and are asked to RSVP in advance so we can plan the agenda accordingly. For a current list of SCCA Pool Board Members, check here.
As some of you know, the on-line service for purchasing memberships on the SCCA website was down for a short while this week. We have been informed that the service is now working, but may still be slow for the next few days. We apologize for the inconvenience - thank you for your patience.
We need your help: weeding, raking, painting, hosing off, cleaning and much more as we near the pool opening. This is your one chance to get free guest passes! Come volunteer at least one three-hour shift at the Clean-Up Day and we'll add 20 extra guest passes to your account.
A boiler may not sound very exciting - but let us assure you, a pool without a boiler is an icy cold pool, especially in the early and late months of the summer. The boiler keeps us comfortable in the pool.
The pool has historically operated on a zero cash level, meaning that we are bringing in just enough to cover our expenses, and yet we have an immediate need to replace the boiler, a $25,000 fix. Keep your eyes open for fundraising opportunities coming soon, and consider getting involved. The board is committed to doing everything we can to keep the pool open full hours and fully-staffed but we are going to need the support of the members to make that happen.
